Pulp City Demo/Scenario Event
by Totengraber on Aug.20, 2010, under Events, Miniatures, Pulp City
I’ll be running a Pulp City demo/scenario game on Sunday, September 12 at the Game Preserve – Keystone Commons. You can find the event calendar on their site here.
For those who don’t know what Pulp City is: Pulp City is a skirmish-level superheroes miniatures game where super-intelligent apes, alien races, rooftop vigilantes and high-flying Supremes battle for control of the streets using any and all scenery and powers to accomplish their goals.
You can visit the Pulp City website here.
The event will start at 12pm and run until 6pm at the latest. I’ll allow up to 12 people to play in the event, each with a level 2 or 3 team of their choice (first come, first served). I will be providing all the materials. All I need are people to play and/or observe. We’ll be playing on a single 4′ x 4′ board with lots of terrain to interact with.
If you’d like to reserve a spot, please post on this topic in the Circle City Gamers forums.
Thanks to Alex at the Game Preserve for putting the event on the calendar and allowing us the space as we may be sharing a bit with the Mailfaux folks.

Sryth’s Gencon Post-Mortum and MERCS Preview
by Sryth on Aug.09, 2010, under Blog, MERCS, Miniatures
So Gencon 2010 is over and I can honestly say this year’s con was a bit different that years past. For starters I wasn’t signed up for eight hours of events per day and secondly this was my first Gencon where Warmachine was my game of choice. This year I got my first taste of Warmachine at Gencon and I can say it was a little crazy playing in a tournament from 9pm to 5am but it was a blast. This year we saw the WoW TCG displayed by their new owner and they seem to have it together at least initially. Gencon 2010 also saw classics games with new releases including Pulp City and Malifuax. I personally didn’t pick up any of either game but I have a list of Pulp City ready to be purchased pending a demo of the new rule changes. Which brings us to the new game dare I say the new hotness, it still to early to tell but judging by the purchases of some of the local guys it has a shot at being one of our go to games. The game in question would be MERCS.

Warmachine/Hordes Turnout at Game Preserve – Keystone
by Totengraber on Jul.30, 2010, under Miniatures, Warmachine & Hordes
I just wanted to let everyone know that there is a pretty large group of Warmachine/Hordes players over at Game Preserve – Keystone. Some of us who’d previously been playing down at Gamerz on the south side have decided to make GP our usual Thursday gaming place since there is a pretty dedicated group up north.
There were about 11 or 12 people that showed up last night and there were constant games being played from about 5:30pm until after 9pm. Phil was mostly busy doing demos for a couple of new folks.

Hello everyone! My name is Scott. I go by Scipio on most boards. I will be doing my best to keep the community up to date on any local Flames of War events and Game Korps meetings. For those that don’t know, Flames of War is a 15mm World War II miniatures game produced by Battle Front. Game Korps is an organization I co-founded a few years ago to promote FoW and historical games and currently has chapters in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee with other groups waiting to join.
