Sryth’s Gencon Post-Mortum and MERCS Preview
by Sryth on Aug.09, 2010, under Blog, MERCS, Miniatures
So Gencon 2010 is over and I can honestly say this year’s con was a bit different that years past. For starters I wasn’t signed up for eight hours of events per day and secondly this was my first Gencon where Warmachine was my game of choice. This year I got my first taste of Warmachine at Gencon and I can say it was a little crazy playing in a tournament from 9pm to 5am but it was a blast. This year we saw the WoW TCG displayed by their new owner and they seem to have it together at least initially. Gencon 2010 also saw classics games with new releases including Pulp City and Malifuax. I personally didn’t pick up any of either game but I have a list of Pulp City ready to be purchased pending a demo of the new rule changes. Which brings us to the new game dare I say the new hotness, it still to early to tell but judging by the purchases of some of the local guys it has a shot at being one of our go to games. The game in question would be MERCS.

Circle City Gamers update
by Totengraber on Apr.27, 2010, under Blog, Events, Miniatures, Warmachine & Hordes
It’s been a while since I or anyone else have posted here on the main page and I don’t want anyone to think we’ve fallen off the planet, so here’s an update on what’s been going on with the group.
We’ve gotten some really cool business cards printed and are starting to be distributed for display at several local game stores. If you see them around, feel free to grab a few to pass out to your friends.
Several of us have been participating in Privateer Press’s Shattered Grounds league up at the Game Preserve – Keystone. There’s usually between 6 and 8 of us there. This Thursday is the finale for the first leg of the league. If I’m not mistaken there is a drawing for a store gift card this week.
There’s also rumor of a super-secret event being run by Circle City Gamers in the semi-near future. Stay tuned for more details!
Web Site Hits
by Totengraber on Mar.05, 2010, under Blog
The site has now been running a little over a month, and based on the statistics I’m seeing for the site, I see lots of folks visiting the home page, which is pretty awesome! We had 34 hits on it yesterday, 26 the day before and 12 before that, the highest was an amazing 56 on 2/25. However, I don’t see many new members either subscribing to the blog or registering on the forums. I don’t yet know why that is, so I am inviting folks to e-mail the webmaster on why they might be visiting and not registering. Perhaps it’s that the site doesn’t present its goal very well or perhaps someone’s favorite game isn’t represented. Whatever the reason, we’d love to hear it since the site was made for you guys, the Central Indiana gamers!

StompyStomp was kind enough to collect a list of local games stores and create a page for them. Check it out in the upper right hand corner of your screen! If you know of any stores that were missed, please let us know!!
Thanks, StompyStomp!

In addition to all the web 2.0 goodness we have also been sending out e-mails and posting various forums about Circle City Gamers in order to Get the Word Out to as many gamers as possible.
Finally we will be making an appearance at Whosyercon this year. I will be running some events and doing my best to Get the Word Out.

The new Circle City Gamers site
by Totengraber on Feb.03, 2010, under Blog
Welcome to the Circle City Gamers website. We are working toward getting Central Indiana’s gamers to all communicate and work together to create a better community for gaming. We are starting with this website and a forum. Later, there will be business cards passed around and perhaps flyers at local game stores to advertise the group.
We look forward to seeing more people getting together and enjoying the gaming hobby as a community!
