1st Annual Game Preserve Civil War
by admin on May.18, 2011, under Events, Miniatures, Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Fantasy Battles, Warmachine & Hordes
There are a number of threads on the forums announcing the Game Preserve’s new Warhammer, Warhammer 40K and Warmachine/Hordes tournament series:
Our first annual Game Preserve Civil War will be taking place this June at our Greenwood store! This unique event pits players from teams representing the North and the Southside stores against each other in three separate events covering Warhammer Fantasy, Warhammer 40K, and Warmachine/Hordes. As this is an unusual event and the first we’ve run of its kind, let me break down the rules for you…
Three separate tournaments will take place: Warhammer Fantasy (June 25th), Warmachine/Hordes (June 18th), and Warhammer 40k (June 11th). Players will have to sign up at the store they wish to represent beforehand. Example: If Joe Smith signs up at our Greenwood store (southside) he will represent the South when he comes to play. Players will only ever be matched up against players from the opposing store (Northside players will only ever play against Southside players). After each event the top six players will earn points for their side. Once all three events have been concluded then the scores will be totaled up to determine which store won the overall event. Players can participate in as many or as few of the events as they would like. Joe Smith can play in just Warhammer Fantasy’s event or, if he is particularly hardcore, all three events. Army size for the events are as follows: Warmachine/Hordes: 35 points. Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40K: 2000 points. Each event will consist of three 120 minute rounds. Be at the store at 10:00 AM, play will begin shortly after. There is a $10 fee due at sign up per event. Each store will only have room for eight players per team per event. In addition to a trophy that will reside at the victorious store until next year, there will be over $150 in prizes given away at each event, including gift cards, custom dice and t-shirts. The clock is ticking so be sure to sign up soon!

Twigster and Marcraxus posted details for a second Hordes/Warmachine tournament held on May 21st in the forums:
Bring your best 35 point Hordes or Warmachine army for 4 rounds of mindblowing ferocity. $5 gets you in and gives you a chance at Hordes Best of Faction Coins (no minions coin, sorry), a Hordes Champion coin as well as a set of Steamroller coins. That’s right, the winner could walk away with 3 coins!

Now with trophies, pizza, and a $25 gift card for best painted army!

CCC Sponsor Spotlight- The Army Painter
by ace king on Feb.14, 2011, under Miniatures, Painting and Modeling

The Army Painter Hobby Table will be at every Circle City Circuit event.
They have sent a bunch of stuff, which is shown in more detail on the CCCTV youtube channel. We teamed up with them to create the Army Painter Hobby Table and its going to be big. Anything you need to build, paint and play tabletop miniatures games will be featured on the table.
You can come test out any of the Army Painter primers, which is a great way to test that paint scheme. We also have The Army Painter- Quickshade Dip. This is awesome for the people out there that want to use a painted army, but just do not have the time or the patience to spend hours on each miniature. You can come in and prime your models, basecoat and dip all in one afternoon. We also have The Army Painter-Anti shine Matt Varnish. This works great in conjunction with Army Painter Quickshade.
The last product I want to mention is their new super glue activator. This stuff is amazing, it works every time with no mess and perfect results. Its instantly dries and hardens super glue with a very impressive bond.
Here’s the Army Painter YouTube channel if you’d like to see their tutorial videos.

CCC Sponsor Spotlight – Custom Kingdoms
by ace king on Jan.09, 2011, under Malifaux, Miniatures, Warhammer Fantasy Battles, Warmachine & Hordes
I just got the package from Custom Kingdoms. This stuff is 100 times better than I thought it was. Look no further for your building needs. These buildings are quality top to bottom. The future is bright and with the semi-modular style of the materials used the possibilities are endless. I cannot wait to see what is next.
Here is a video of the first building I have received from these guys.
This building will be on the top table at every Circle City Circuit event.
Here is a few pics from their website

These guys have an amazing range of comic books. All kind of other games, toys and collectibles. They have a good 40k crowd and probably the best maulifaux scene I have heard about. They are ready and able to be quick about getting special orders. The game room can fit a max of 6-7 tables, and they have a nice selection of terrain.
Hometown comics wants us to give an Island of Blood to the members of Circle City Gamers.
All you have to do is sign up on the Circle City Gamers Forums, and start a new thread introducing yourself. The post should be in the warhammer fantasy section, and should be an explanation of your hobby. What armies you play, events you will attend, where you play and when you play.
There will also be a Hometown comics Island of Blood contest thread, post on that too. This will give us the complete list of participants. We will pick our favorite posts and draw a random winner from that list. The contest will end, on January 14th. The Island of Blood box can be picked up at any Circle City Circuit event.
Circle City Gamers is going to be home of the Circle City Circuit. This will be the place for information about events and contests. So sign up today, and start posting some content.
Any questions please ask in the forums.
