Warmachine/Hordes Turnout at Game Preserve – Keystone

by Totengraber on Jul.30, 2010, under Miniatures, Warmachine & Hordes

Privteer Press Warmachine LogoI just wanted to let everyone know that there is a pretty large group of Warmachine/Hordes players over at Game Preserve – Keystone. Some of us who’d previously been playing down at Gamerz on the south side have decided to make GP our usual Thursday gaming place since there is a pretty dedicated group up north.

There were about 11 or 12 people that showed up last night and there were constant games being played from about 5:30pm until after 9pm. Phil was mostly busy doing demos for a couple of new folks.

Warmachine / Hordes – 35 pts Retribution vs Circle

by Totengraber on Jun.18, 2010, under Miniatures, Warmachine & Hordes

Privteer Press Warmachine LogoCory and I were waiting around for everyone else to show up last night, so we decided to play a 35 point game. I aplogize to Cory and Kevin for playing so slow since they had a game planned ahead of time. I didn’t think Kevin would be there as early as he was and I didn’t think the game would go on so long. Perhaps I should start trying to stick to the 7 – 10 minute turns in Hardcore or something.

Anyway…this game was my second for the Blasted Heath league. I won a 4 player King of the Hill game the previous week against Joel, Cory and Jim.

Warmachine Battle Report – 35 points Menoth vs. Khador

by Totengraber on May.04, 2010, under Miniatures, Warmachine & Hordes

Privteer Press Warmachine LogoThis week was supposed to be the “finale” for the first leg of the Shattered Grounds league. There was suppoed to be a drawing for a gift card and a coin given out for the winner of the league. Since Joel had played and won the most games, he was likely to be declared the winner, but Phil never showed up to present it to him. At the end of the night, Justin won the gift card. Joel and Justin had just finished playing a game with Fiona fighting Nemo. Fiona won through a pretty cool trick using the Togash Mark spell.

Brian and I decided to play a 35-point refresher game (for him) with his brand new Menoth models. I changed my list up just a tad by bringing the Great Bears of Gallowswood and resisted the urge to bring the Behemoth instead of the Destroyer (and some other things).

Circle City Gamers update

by Totengraber on Apr.27, 2010, under Blog, Events, Miniatures, Warmachine & Hordes

It’s been a while since I or anyone else have posted here on the main page and I don’t want anyone to think we’ve fallen off the planet, so here’s an update on what’s been going on with the group.

We’ve gotten some really cool business cards printed and are starting to be distributed for display at several local game stores. If you see them around, feel free to grab a few to pass out to your friends.

Several of us have been participating in Privateer Press’s Shattered Grounds league up at the Game Preserve – Keystone. There’s usually between 6 and 8 of us there. This Thursday is the finale for the first leg of the league. If I’m not mistaken there is a drawing for a store gift card this week.

There’s also rumor of a super-secret event being run by Circle City Gamers in the semi-near future. Stay tuned for more details!

Warmachine Battle Reports – 50 and 35 points

by Totengraber on Apr.05, 2010, under Miniatures, Warmachine & Hordes

Privteer Press Warmachine LogoBelow are two battle reports for the game that is “The New, but Old Hotness”, Warmachine. I’m really enjoying playing this game again, like I did back in 2003 (or was it ’04?), which is pretty awesome considering I came to a point where I hated playing the game.

Last Wednesday I finally had the opportunity to play Dave in a game of Warmachine. Up until then, I think we’d only played a couple of games of Legend of the Five Rings and a “demo” game of Uncharted Seas. We decided on 50 points for this game as I wanted to test out my Old Witch list that I made up and started painting over the last few weeks. This being my second ever game of Warmachine using Khador, I figured I’d probably lose badly. Dave has been playing Retribution over hte last little while and seems to be enjoying them and had yet to play against Khador with them.

Welcome to Warmachine – Mark2

by StompyStomp on Feb.26, 2010, under Warmachine & Hordes

Privteer Press Warmachine Logo

Hello everyone, this is your friendly, local Press Ganger writing the first post in a monthly series concerning Warmachine (& eventually Hordes), Mark2, here in Indianapolis.

What is Mark2? Well, simply put, it’s the brand new rules update for Warmachine & Hordes, by Privateer Press.

Why should that interest you? If you haven’t played the game in a while, or ever, you’ll find Mark2 to be one of the cleanest, most balanced rule-sets for a skirmish/army miniatures game ever. Privateer has done an excellent job of refining and simplifying the core rules, while still maintaining the tactical depth and gameplay that has made Warmachine & Hordes the biggest miniatures game outside of 40k.
